About

he Haagse Rondgang Foundation organizes a HOOGTIJ edition on Friday evenings four times a year. During HOOGTIJ, approximately 25 art locations in the city center of The Hague are open from white cube to underground, from established art in the galleries and institutions to experimental art, installations and performances at the artist initiatives. New initiatives by, for example, recently graduated starting visual artists are encouraged to participate, also with art activity planned only for this evening.

HOOGTIJ during covid time
Depending on the measures against covid-19, the HOOGTIJ edition is offline and/or online. If HOOGTIJ is online, each location will make a video especially for this. There is also a talk show and sometimes extra events.

Start

Every HOOGTIJ starts at one of the participating art locations. Various guides also start here who take visitors to the different locations. Some initiatives are only open during High Tide, such as Refunc.

Each participating location provides its own programming and is asked to organize an extra activity during HOOGTIJ, such as an opening of a new exhibition, a performance, an artist conversation, etc. This allows the participants to emphasize their own artistic focus and ambitions and HOOGTIJ ensures the binding factor.

History

HOOGTIJ has been organized in The Hague since 1998 (first as Haagse Rondgang) and shows its importance and value in the art field in The Hague four times a year with its accessible appearance, continuity and openness. During HOOGTIJ, everyone can get to know the art circuit in The Hague in an accessible way.
