Change with me - anna andrejew, Arno van Emmerik, Akash Kumar, Chiel Lubbers, Nienke Roth

    Continuously in transition

In Change With Me, nothing is meant to stay the same. These works are not objects to admire from a distance, but situations you step into — shifting encounters between material, body, and time. Everything is temporary, everything is porous. What you touch responds. What you taste disappears. What you hear keeps moving, again and again. Art here is not made to last — but to take place. The artists quite literally invite you to participate:
Chiel Lubbers is motivated by the continuous interaction with our environment, in which our bodies both influence and are influenced by it — transforming as we live and exist alongside each other. Explore with him bio-based material research around celery as an ongoing metabolic process. Through three interactive steps — dismantling and fermenting, tasting, and making textile — a collective Exquisite Corpse emerges.

Nienke Roth integrates her artworks into the food chain. Working with edible paper made from fruits and vegetables, she creates material that nourishes both human and soil. It functions as a healing recipe, symbolising how different organisms can “consume” one another in equal and regenerative ways. Look, touch, taste, and digest paper made from rejected fruits and vegetables.

anna andrejew and Akash Kumar treat breakdown as a form of care. Through onions and tears, they explore how material and emotion can fall apart — and in doing so nourish new forms of life. Join them in making onion prints on paper made from street cardboard.
Moving between these works is a soundscape by Arno van Emmerik, tracing continuous transformation. You don’t simply listen to this composition — you generate it.

About EnergieKas

Energiekas is a cultural testsite that offers space for imagination, experimentation, and encounters at the intersection of art, climate, and science. In and around an urban rooftop greenhouse with a 360 view over the city, new ways of seeing, growing, making, building, and living are explored together. EnergieKas offers space to artists, designers, and makers for hands-on experimentation, programming, knowledge sharing, and connection. The aim is to inspire one another, to collectively imagine, test, and already experience possible futures. How might we reimagine the city and society?
