In this presentation, artist Šimon Chovan (Slovakia, 1994) responds to the temporary and transformative state of the exhibition space at …ism project space. Littoral Drifting refers to sediment movements along the Dutch coast. Repurposing a collection of bricks Chovan found along the shores of IJmeer and Markermeer, Chovan creates new works in which echoes of abandoned plans for land formation and never realised cities seep in. The installation presented at ..ism consists of reliefs, cast with the brick mixture binded by acrylic resin.
